Hey there! Nice to meet you!
I teach English, German and beginner-level Japanese and am also the co-founder of Winged Words Okinawa.
I can boast a BA in linguistics and literature, an official certification from Goethe Institute for teaching German, and more than 7 years filled with wonderful experiences working as an English and German teacher. Meanwhile, I have also done numerous freelance translating and proofreading projects on the side.
Languages – and studying them – have been my personal passion ever since I can remember. Therefore, I am eager to share with you the magic of learning to communicate in more than one tongue and with many new people!

Hi! Konnichiwa!
Hi, I am Yuka from Okinawa, Japan. I am a native Japanese speaker and I currently live in Australia and teach Japanese at Adelaide Japanese Community School and at my private office.
After living overseas for more than two years, I started realising that I am very interested in Japanese as a language. That led me to rethink Japanese language and culture from a different perspective that I had never thought about when I was in Japan. Studying and using a new language is one of the best ways to learn about a unique aspect of the world. To share this experience, my lessons will be customised only for you, based on your Japanese level and interests.
I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to teach you and I am looking forward to an online lesson with you!
